  • The HVAC (heating/ventilation/air conditioning) system features HEPA filtration to remove dust and allergens.

  • Products from the award-winning Greening the Cleaning® program, developed by The Deirdre Imus Environmental Center, are used throughout the Pavilion and Hackensack University Medical Center. Greening the Cleaning® products are made from natural or naturally-derived ingredients, and ingredients from renewable resources. 


  • Paints and Finishes with little or no VOCs.
    Low or non-VOC paints, finishes, adhesives and sealants contribute to healthy indoor air and reduce allergy triggers. (VOCs are volatile organic compounds.)
  • Green Building Materials
    The selection of environmentally-responsible green building materials also contributes to better indoor air quality.

N.J. Chapter of U.S. Green Building Council Bestows
First Product Award on Greening the Cleaning® Line

Holmdel, NJ, April 9, 2008 – The New Jersey Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) bestowed its first Green Product Award on the Greening the Cleaning® line of non-toxic commercial cleaners from The Deirdre Imus Environmental Center for Pediatric Oncology® at Hackensack University Medical Center, a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation.
